Despite a 35 point outburst from Kentucky senior Joe Crawford, the Wildcats could not come away with the victory. Jerel McNeal led Marquette with 20 points, as the Golden Eagles earned their first NCAA tournament victory since 2003. Kent State went to halftime tied for the lowest
point ever scored in a half. The Golden Flashes seemed anything but golden on a day where Joe Darger, 18 points for UNLV, almost doubled their first half output alone. Winks Adams had 17 for the Rebels. Levance Fields dropped 23 on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on his way to an easy victory. The Panthers got big play from Sam Young who had 14 points and DeJuan Blair who finished with eight points and 10 rebounds. The Boilermakers, led by Keaton Grant who finished with 17 points, surged over the Baylor Bears. Purdue, at one time led by as many as 25 in their route over Baylor. E'Twaun Moore pulled down 8 rebounds for this hot Purdue team, who will play Xavier, Saturday.
