Vols Drop Vandy Game Along with the #1 Ranking
The Vols enjoyed that number one ranking for just over a day, that is until Vanderbilt did what they seem to do best, beat the number one team in the nation. The Vols lost just their third game of the year, the second in SEC play. (Kentucky and Vanderbilt) Senior Chris Lofton had a big game, with 25 points in 30 minutes of play. Duke Crews was shaken after the game but no doubt realizes what's at stake:"The whole No. 1 thing, it was good for the program and made our school look good, but that wasn't our main focus. Our main focus is to win the SEC Championship. We're trying to win the SEC Championship, so now we have to get these next three games against Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina." Not an easy task indeed, but it's good to know that two of three will be in Knoxville. The Vols travel to Gainesville Wednesday after taking on Kentucky Sunday in Knoxville. (Noon EST, CBS) They will try to hold off Mississippi State and Kentucky, who remain just a game and a half back in the SEC.
